Please say a prayer for a friend who has to go do the unthinkable today with her friend, a cat. Her cat baby has been with her for fifteen years and all that know him will sorely miss him.

As for me, this made me remember more sharply the hurt I feel for my baby dog, Mysti. When we spoke this morning it was all I could do to prop her up because the wounds are still too new for me too. May 28 will be a year and I’m just now able to grieve.

I know my friend will grieve over the coming months and go through the seven degrees of grief and it won’t be fun. But maybe, like me, she’ll see him rubbing up against the doorframe as he comes in to say hello.
