Happy Valentines Day, y’all. The sun’s bright and it’s warm. Loving people have called and wished us a great day and now I’m wishing you the same. Even Connie came by and wished us one.

To my way of thinking, every day should be Valentines because people could show their love all year long instead of on only one day. Wouldn’t the world be a better place then?

February is a remarkable month for us in this household. Mysti and Madeline both have birthdays. There’s the Valentine thing and also the fourth anniversary of Claude’s stroke is coming up. Although the actual day wasn’t great, the fourth anniversary is because with the stroke he had, he shouldn’t be alive. But he is and we’re celebrating it.

Did you also notice that February has twenty-nine days this year? Isn’t that a leap year? It’s a year for taking chances with love. And it’s the Chinese year of the Rat, that’s my year. New beginnings should be possible so lets make the most of it.

Here’s to Valentines Day in the year of the Rat.
