Gratitude is something I think of more and more these days.

Gratitude is something I think of more and more these days.

It’s not as though I don’t appreciate my life or haven’t in the past. My life is wonderful no matter what experience I might be living at the moment. I’ve always been the kind of person who sees the glass half-full. Because of this, there have been moments that I’ve found where I reveled in appreciation for some flower, for the wind or even a sunny day; those little things that happen to remind you you’re alive.

Now, though, I wake up every day savoring the very idea that I’m living to enjoy all that’s given. It doesn’t have to be a special occasion…. but rather just because.
My home is quiet at times but it’s also filled to the brim with laughter, one of the reasons I’m so appreciative. Spiritually and physically I notice every instant even those of a ghost peering through some foliage to get my attention or my dogs running and playing through the house. Something I’ve noticed is that the more grateful I am new events happen to make me even more thankful.

So, in this time of holiday seasons, take a moment to breathe and with each breath to cultivate gratitude. When you do this, you’re spiritual eyes will open to the possibilities and additional reasons will grow for you to feel appreciativeness.
