My daughter, who lives in another state, is watching The Weather Channel and obsessing about the tornadoes around her mother.
Today hasn’t been a good one for those who are frightened of Mother Nature. Tornadoes have been within throwing distance or at least make me think they are. While eating my lunch of left-over popcorn my dog and I’ve watched one on television for about twenty-five minutes roaring across the ground clearing everything in its path including semi-trailers which it threw around like feathers.
Checking on and being checked on by friends is the order of the day.
Our local weather people have stayed on television pointing out some new tornado activity, grapefruit size hail or sixty-mile-an-hour winds. Lightning and thunder blessed this house with noise and light. The sky’s dark and beautiful in its own eerie way and one can think about crawling up under the blanket to sleep the day away, if only it wasn’t so hectic with devastation.
Storm sirens have been going off constantly, at least that’s how it feels. All that running outside to see if there really is a tornado on top of you can make a psychic tired. Yeah, I’m one of those people who like to stand outside and watch. It’s the same principal I have with ghosts. I want to see what’s coming at me.
All in all, this type day can make you oh-so-much more grateful for a beautiful sunny day.
