Since we’re in my favorite month, October, the home of Halloween I’d like to commiserate about ghosts one more time. You probably also know this is my birthday month, another reason for the favorite month thing.
An out-of-state real-estate agent friend of mine related how she was showing a house in her town to a minister and his wife. The house was about fifty years old and very well constructed, probably because of its age. She mentioned that though it was small the layout made it look considerably larger. This lady was as impressed with how it flowed as the clients were.
Knowing that they were there alone, they strode through the home admiring all the updates and the beauty of the well-cared for and loved by someone home. The agent was talking with her clients when she looked back at the open office they’d just passed. That’s when she saw a little, gray-haired lady dressed primly in a red dress with dark shoes standing watching her.
My friend mentioned that it surprised her that someone else had entered the house especially this little lady. She wheeled around to speak to her clients and relate that she needed to go back to talk with the lady but decided to look at her one more time before doing so. That’s when the chills came and she had that feeling of “Don’t look.” But you know you have to, and she did. Of course there was no one there. You’ve probably been in the place where you start to pray, just as she did, and think this can’t be so and though I’m walking back there please don’t let her pop up again.
When she was relaying the story to me I knew the woman in red was smiling and she confirmed that. Then I mentioned that I thought she was there to bring good news to which she revealed she thought so too. So how could this be a bad thing, I added?
She reiterated that it wasn’t but that it spooked her. See I told you this was a Halloween story just not one of those blood-and-gore things.
I reminded her that it’s a good thing to get those kinds of messages from the other side. Don’t you think so?
P. S. Happy October to all you Libras, like me.
