My friend, Sandra, mentioned that I should list ten things I love. She told me that she had gone to a funeral for a friend who’d committed suicide. Rather than the usual, those that cared for him paid tribute by thinking of the ten things they love in life other than family and friends, because that’s usually a given, and they sent those things to each other by email later.
I think it’s a good idea to share with those you love some of the things you love. So with that in mind, here’s some of mine:
Sunshine on my face
The Texas Wind
Saying good morning to the mother dove setting about three feet from our back door giving birth to her fifth set of babies this summer
Watching that dove’s last child, who’s still a baby, walking around on my patio and grass while Madeline, my puppy, walks there too.
Snuggling into Madeline and smelling her when she’s clean
Having popcorn, a coke and a movie with Claude
Sharing dinner with friends
A nice piece of organic cheese and tomatoes fresh from the garden
Reading, both books and for people
If you’d like to share too, I’d love to hear.
