I saw the most beautiful sky today right in the middle of a thunderstorm, while the weather forecasters were telling everyone in my vicinity to take cover. And, of course, I’m out the door watching. There was a very dark cloud centered in the middle of the most beautiful, did I say that, color of ocean blue I’ve ever seen. Gazing up at this mind-blowing, and I really mean it, experience, I heard the forecasters and the weather signals in our community blasting out the news that a tornado was coming.
Guess where they said it was. You’re right. It was right where I’d been looking. Police had seen it on the ground in the very location I’d been marveling at. There was no noise, just a quiet, that is, other than the sirens and some man’s voice telling us to seek cover.
Any weather is so spectacular to me. It’s amazing that something so beautiful could be so scary too. I guess it’s like the colors on a poisonous snake. They are pretty to look at but you don’t want to get too close.
This is one of those times that you should not do as I do but as the weather forecasters tell you. But I wasn’t the only fool in the yard. My neighbors were watching too. Does that make us smart? I don’t think so but it was a fantastic sight.
